In the second of two relay events featuring Heanor RC members this weekend, the trio of Louise Insley, Wendy Roenthenbaugh and Jill Burke tasted success as they made the trip to Donisthorpe Woodland Park in south-west Derbyshire to compete in the Midland Masters Open Relays.

The annual event took place once again in the woodland area of the former Donisthorpe Colliery and consisted of three 4.88k legs.

The experienced three ran brilliantly to take the victory. Close and consistent in their times, Louise set the tone with a swift opening leg effort of 20:21. Wendy (20:51) maintained the charge on leg two before handing over to Jill (20:53), who anchored the team home to first position.
