Joe Rainsford and Louise Insley led the way in the final BDL fixture of the season on Tuesday as the men’s and combined teams won out on the night and overall after five races.

Joe led home a HRC one-two ahead of Matt Bickerstaff. A hugely impressive thirty one turned out on home turf – in addition to the many unsung marshals and officials behind-the-scenes – among a 290-strong field.

The Heanor RC ladies finished one position behind Sutton AC on the night, which was also how the teams ended up in the final standings.
