Stuart King was crowned the Midland Counties 1500m champion after clocking 4:00:06 in what he described as “a very tactical race.”

Lily Winfield grabbed 1500m gold at the Derbyshire Schools Championships.

Lily ran a controlled 4:51 in the U15 category and will be heading to Birmingham next weekend to compete for the prestigious Masons Trophy over the same distance.

Ian Duffin took part in the Ironman Triathlon event in Stafford. Ian was the runner in the team of three and led his side home ahead of their local rivals.

On Sunday, the club held its annual summer party at Shipley Hall Cricket Club. Despite the inclement weather, more than 70 members enjoyed the afternoon’s activities, barbeque and bar.
